Here you can step ashore straight into history: 14. Bärby holme: Follow the channel marked by the Bronze Age cairns along Hakefjorden. See the traces of old settlements in the landscape. A magnificent view over Hakefjorden from the striking Bronze Age cairn on Bärby holme. 15. Ramsön: Coastal farming. Cows graze in a landscape reminiscent of the nineteenth century. 16. Lilla Dyrön/Hättan: This is where the customs men and the pilots controlled traffic up to Uddevalla. Customs men in red houses, pilots in white. The pilots' lookout on Hättan survives. 17. Älgön: A remarkable island with a breathtaking view, historic landscape, abundant flora and the remains of crofts and fish-oil works. 18. Marstrand: A town with a long and dramatic history, of soldiers, merchants and fishermen, and a mighty fortress watching over it all.
